Hyundai Home Shopping Introduces Robotic Arms and Singulators at Hwaseong Logistics Center... "Outbound Time Reduced by 20%"
Expansion of Automated Equipment at Logistics Center
Hyundai Home Shopping announced on June 4 that it has introduced automated logistics equipment, specifically 'robotic arms' and 'singulators,' at its Hwaseong logistics center in Gyeonggi Province.
The robotic arms are devices that pick up multiple products at once and transfer them to the unloading conveyor belt, while the singulators are systems that automatically arrange products on the conveyor so that they can be released one by one in sequence.
The automated equipment introduced by Hyundai Home Shopping is specifically designed for the home shopping logistics environment. Unlike open-market e-commerce, where small quantities of various products are shipped, home shopping sees a concentration of orders for the same product during specific time slots based on broadcast schedules. To handle large volumes of products quickly within a short period, Hyundai Home Shopping has introduced robotic arms capable of moving up to 24 boxes at a time and singulators for automatic product arrangement.

With the introduction of this equipment, the hourly processing capacity at the Hwaseong logistics center is expected to increase to up to 4,000 cases, and the total outbound processing time is anticipated to be reduced by up to 20% compared to before, according to the company.
