Yook Donghan Re-elected as Chuncheon Mayor: "I Will Not Halt Chuncheon's Steps Toward Becoming a Premier City"
Yook Donghan, who was re-elected as Mayor of Chuncheon in the 9th Nationwide Local Elections, expressed his gratitude to the citizens and stated, "I solemnly accept the mandate from the citizens that the changes in Chuncheon must not stop and must continue moving forward."
On June 4, Mayor-elect Yook shared his thoughts on the election, saying, "To the respected and beloved citizens of Chuncheon, I am truly grateful. You have once again entrusted me, Yook Donghan, with the future of Chuncheon."
He continued, "This choice is not a personal victory but a stern command from the citizens that the transformation of Chuncheon must continue. I accept this with a profound sense of responsibility," he emphasized.
Mayor-elect Yook explained that during the election campaign, he personally visited early morning markets, local alley businesses, rural villages, school communities, welfare sites, workplaces, and youth entrepreneurship sites to listen to the voices of citizens.
He said, "What I reaffirmed in those places is that the answers for Chuncheon are found in the daily lives of its citizens. I have taken to heart the sighs of merchants, the sweat of farmers, the hands of workers, the challenges of youth, the years of the elderly, and the future of children."
He also said, "Over the past four years, I have dedicated all my efforts to building the foundation for Chuncheon's future. Since the citizens have given me another opportunity, I promise to deliver faster and more tangible results in return."
Additionally, he stated, "Above all, I will come even closer to the citizens and remain endlessly humble before them. However, for the future of Chuncheon and the lives of its citizens, I will work with competence, wisdom, and boldness."
