Lee Chungwoo, the candidate for Mayor of Yeoju City, has secured re-election in the 9th nationwide local elections and will lead the 9th term of the Yeoju municipal administration.
According to the tally released by the National Election Commission, as of 12:30 a.m. on June 4, Lee Chungwoo had secured 30,825 votes, achieving a vote share of 55.90% and confirming his victory. Park Siseon, the candidate from the Democratic Party of Korea, received 24,315 votes, with a vote share of 44.09%.
In a statement released immediately after his victory was confirmed, Lee expressed his gratitude by saying, "Thanks to the overwhelming support and generous love from the citizens, I have once again gained a precious opportunity to serve Yeoju. I offer my sincere thanks."
He went on to say that the result of this election "is not a personal victory for Lee Chungwoo, but a collective victory forged by the efforts of the great citizens of Yeoju and fellow party members," and "a triumph of the people's will, wishing for the uninterrupted progress of Yeoju."
Lee also pledged to complete the key policies and projects he has pursued over the past four years. He emphasized, "The one who started will see it through to the end," adding, "If the previous term laid the foundation and set the stage for Yeoju's transformation, I will now ensure the full completion of the projects promised to the citizens."
He also identified unity and integration as the most important tasks following the election. Lee stated, "Now that the fierce competition is behind us, it is time for everyone to come together for the bright future of Yeoju," adding, "I will value not only those who supported me but also the will of the citizens who chose other candidates, and will create a Yeoju of unity and harmony."

He further pledged, "With greater humility, I will listen closely to the voices of the citizens and fulfill every promise made to them," vowing, "I will devote all my efforts to the development of Yeoju and the happiness of its citizens."
