Seocho District to Open "Classic Theme Park" on June 12
Enjoy Performances, Play, and Experiences in the Park
Featuring Kai, Son Junho and Kim Sohyun, and Conductor Baek Yunhak
Seocho District in Seoul announced on June 4 that the "Seocho Classic Theme Park (Classics on a Spring Night)" will be held from June 12 to 14 at Dwitbeol Children's Park in Bangbae-dong. Now in its fourth year since its inception in 2023, the event is the signature outdoor classical music festival for the Bangbae area, combining performances with play and hands-on experiences.
Seocho District organized the festival based on local infrastructure such as the Seoul Arts Center and the Music and Culture District, aiming to make classical music easily accessible to residents in their daily lives. This year, they have added interactive elements to the performances and designed the venue as a "theme park-style space."
Musical stars will take the stage at the main venue. On June 13, Kai will perform, and at the "Starry Night Maestro" concert on the same day, conductor Baek Yunhak will lead the 40-member Ieum Orchestra in collaboration with popera singer Kim Ara and actress Jeon Minji. One highlight of the event is the opportunity to experience a large-scale orchestra performance up close in a children's park.
On June 14, the "Moonlight Musical" featuring the couple Son Junho and Kim Sohyun will be held, with an added performance that combines b-boying and circus acts. Additionally, 13 teams including Volare, Atti Classic, and Boombeat Brass Band will take the stage.
There will also be a wide variety of hands-on programs. Attractions such as "Classic Adventure" with a carousel and Viking ride, and "Classic Water Park" equipped with water play facilities, as well as activities like wooden guitar making, rhythm games, AI music production, children's DJing, and photo zones will be available.
The audience seating will accommodate 900 people, with 80% of seats available for online reservations and 20% for on-site entry. Each person can apply for up to two seats. Ticket reservations for the June 13 performance will open at 2:00 p.m. on June 5, and for the June 14 performance at 2:00 p.m. on June 6.
The district has prepared designated seating for people with disabilities, seniors, and pregnant women, and also supports phone reservations for those who are digitally vulnerable. The festival will be held in cooperation with the Bangbae Cafe Alley Merchants Association, making it a win-win event that connects with and supports the local commercial district.
