Trump Admits to Using Profanity Toward Netanyahu: "I Want to Meet Khamenei"
"Khamenei Is Involved in Negotiations"
U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed his willingness to meet directly with Iran's new leader Mojtaba Khamenei. He also admitted to having used profanity while demanding that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stop attacks on Lebanon, further emphasizing his strong commitment to brokering peace in the Middle East.
In an interview with the New York Post podcast "Pod Force One," released on June 3 (local time), President Trump responded to the question, "Do you want to meet with Khamenei?" by saying, "That's a good question," and added, "I'll think about it. I do want to meet him." He went on to say, "I want to meet everyone," and explained that "depending on how things play out, at some point, I probably will meet him."
President Trump assessed that Mojtaba Khamenei, who is reportedly in seclusion, is "definitely involved" in the peace negotiations between the United States and Iran. He stated, "Iranians respect him greatly," and added, "I've heard that his health is not good, but he is still giving approval during the negotiation process."
President Trump also claimed, "Iran has already agreed not to possess nuclear weapons." Regarding the possibility of renewed military conflict in the future, he said, "For now, there is no need for ground troops," and asserted, "We wiped out a significant part of their military with airstrikes alone."
President Trump acknowledged reports that he had furiously used profanity toward Prime Minister Netanyahu, stating, "I did." Previously, Axios reported that President Trump had strongly protested to Netanyahu over the phone, using profanity, after Israel's planned airstrikes on Lebanon threatened to undermine negotiations between the United States and Iran.
He commented, "I was a bit annoyed that he kept fighting with Lebanon," and added, "At one point, I told him, 'Bibi (Netanyahu's nickname), you need to stop now. You have to stop.'" However, he also said, "I like Bibi," and stressed, "I have worked very well with him."

Regarding criticism that he was manipulated by Prime Minister Netanyahu into waging war with Iran, President Trump dismissed it by saying, "They are Democrats and the United Nations." He argued, "If we hadn't launched a preemptive strike, Iran would have had nuclear weapons and Israel would have disappeared."
