Blue House Says "Election Commission Must Address Ballot Shortage Issue"
The Blue House stated on June 3 that the shortage of ballot papers that occurred during the 9th nationwide local elections is "an issue that must be addressed by the National Election Commission."
An official from the Blue House commented on this day, "The National Election Commission is an independent constitutional body," conveying this position. The intention is that since the National Election Commission is an independent institution and not under the administration, it is not an issue for the Blue House to intervene in.
On the afternoon of the same day, ballot shortages at over 10 polling stations in the Seoul metropolitan area led to a temporary suspension of voting. Some voters gave up on voting, while others received waiting tickets and completed their votes after 6 p.m., according to reports.
