Gwangju Dong-gu will host the "Chungjang-ro Goblin Market," a citizen-participatory street festival featuring a flea market, Onnuri gift certificate payback, and cultural performances in the Chungjang-ro 4~5-ga area. The event aims to revitalize the local commercial district and stimulate consumption.
According to Dong-gu, Gwangju on June 2, this event has been organized to boost the Chungjang commercial area and promote local consumption. In conjunction with the Car-Free Street event to be held on Geumnam-ro on June 6, the festival will take place from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. around the former Chohung Bank intersection.
The event venue will feature 20 booths for the self-participation flea market operated by Chungjang merchants, two food booths, one thrift market booth, and three food trucks, offering a variety of food, experiences, and attractions.
In particular, a payback event using Onnuri gift certificates will be held on the day of the festival at shops throughout Chungjang-ro. Dong-gu intends to encourage on-site spending by visitors and maximize the effect of increasing sales for local businesses through this initiative.

Through the "Chungjang-ro Goblin Market," Dong-gu seeks to create a stay-type street culture where citizens naturally visit and spend time in Chungjang-ro, while also supporting on-site consumption that translates directly into increased sales for local businesses.
Ju Seungil, president of the Chungjang-ro Merchants Association, said, "We will continue to expand consumption-promotion events and stay-type content with direct participation from merchants, making Chungjang-ro a commercial district that people want to visit again."
