View original imageOn June 2, Doosan Bobcat announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Maum AI, an AI solutions company, at Bundang Doosan Tower in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, for the development of autonomous construction equipment operation technology.
This collaboration is part of Doosan Bobcat's ongoing physical AI strategy in the construction equipment sector. Doosan Bobcat will provide compact construction equipment and data, while Maum AI will utilize vision-language-action (VLA)-based AI technology to examine the potential for applying autonomous operation to the equipment. Based on this, the two companies plan to jointly conduct technology validation and demonstration projects.
Hyuncheol Park, Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of Doosan Bobcat, said, "This will serve as an opportunity to increase the practical application of autonomous construction equipment operation technology at worksites," adding, "We will continue to develop technologies that can enhance customer productivity and operational efficiency."

Hongseop Choi, CEO of Maum AI, stated, "The scope of work that AI can perform in the construction equipment industry will rapidly expand," and added, "We will focus on increasing the level of industrial equipment autonomy and on-site application using VLA-based physical AI technology."
