Kipspharma Ranks in Top 5 of KOSDAQ Potential Index... "Advancing as a Sustainable Biotech"
Kips Biopharma (hereafter Kipspharma) announced on June 2 that it has ranked among the top five companies on the KOSDAQ market according to the potential measurement index for each stock provided by the Korea Exchange. The company explained that it was recognized for both its growth potential and technological capability through this evaluation.
The potential measurement index is one of the investment analysis tools provided by the Korea Exchange. It comprehensively quantifies and evaluates a company’s growth potential, technological capability, and profitability. A higher score indicates a company is evaluated as having greater potential for future growth.
Kipspharma achieved a composite score of 0.53, placing fifth overall on the KOSDAQ, and ranked 66th among all listed companies on both the KOSPI and KOSDAQ. In particular, the company received a perfect score of 10 points in the growth category and also scored highly in the potential category with 7.9 points.
The company stated that sales expansion was a major factor in its high score in the growth category. On a consolidated basis, annual sales increased from 14.6 billion won in 2022 to 170.1 billion won in 2025, growing more than tenfold in about three years. First-quarter sales this year also reached 59.4 billion won, up 46% year-on-year, marking a record quarterly performance.
This growth is attributed to several factors: restructuring the business structure to focus on pharmaceuticals and biopharma, building a value chain from development to distribution through strategic mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and the benefits of expanding Battery Solutions production facilities.
In the potential category, the technological strength of Kipspharma’s key new drug pipelines received positive evaluations. The ovarian cancer treatment 'Idetrexed' demonstrated high safety and a meaningful objective response rate (ORR) in Phase 1 clinical trials, and is currently undergoing combination Phase 1a and 2b trials in the UK. Monotherapy trials are set to enter Phase 2 in Korea and Europe.
Another core pipeline, the peptide oral drug platform 'Oraloid,' is also being prepared for clinical stages, leveraging its high encapsulation rate and commercial potential, according to the company.
Recently, government policies aimed at revitalizing the KOSDAQ are also cited as positive factors. Since the policies focus on improving the market structure around companies with growth potential and technological strength—rather than simply providing liquidity—there is analysis that the trend of re-evaluating growth-oriented companies will become more pronounced.
In particular, the recently completed first round of the National Growth Fund is designed to require that more than 30% of the total raised capital be invested in KOSDAQ-listed and high-quality unlisted companies. This is fueling expectations for increased capital inflows to KOSDAQ companies with strong growth potential and competitiveness. In addition, as listing maintenance requirements are strengthened and institutional improvements to enhance market credibility are implemented in parallel, the trend of distinguishing between high- and low-quality stocks within the KOSDAQ market is expected to accelerate.
A company official stated, "Reaching the upper tier of the potential measurement index is significant in that it objectively recognizes the company’s growth potential in the KOSDAQ market," and added, "We will continue to enhance our business competitiveness and develop our major pipelines to steadily increase corporate value."
Meanwhile, Kipspharma plans to expand discussions on collaboration with global big pharma companies by attending global conferences and academic meetings, including BIO USA, which will be held in June.
