HiteJinro Renews 'Chamisul Fresh', Adjusts Alcohol Content to 15.7%
"Reflecting Consumer Preferences and Alcohol Market Trends"
'Chamisul Fresh' will undergo a product quality renewal for the first time in approximately 2 years and 4 months, in response to evolving consumer preferences.
HiteJinro announced on June 2 that it will adjust the alcohol content of Chamisul Fresh from the previous 16% to 15.7%. According to the company, this change reflects both the widespread trend of lowering alcohol content in the market and the growing demand among consumers for a clean and smooth drinking experience.
A HiteJinro representative stated, "Based on continuous consumer research, we have repeatedly conducted extensive studies and tests to perfect the optimal product quality that preserves the authentic taste of soju."
Since its launch in 1998, Chamisul has sold approximately 41.3 billion bottles (based on 360ml) as of May 2026. This equates to about 47 bottles sold every second. The secret to its enduring popularity lies in the company's proactive response to the changing environment—quickly adapting product quality and packaging rather than adhering rigidly to the original product. Last year, the company also renewed its PET packaging, maintaining continuous communication with consumers.
