Min Hyungbae, Seo Samseok, and Lee Gaeho Rally Support…Jang Seil Vows to Make Yeonggwang an Energy Hub City
Focusing on Winning Voter Support in the Final Days of the Election
Jang Seil, the Democratic Party candidate for county governor of Yeonggwang, is making a last-minute push to win votes by emphasizing Democratic Party unity and presenting a vision for Yeonggwang's future industries.
On the morning of June 1, Jang held an intensive campaign rally at the entrance of the New Town in Beopseong-myeon, Yeonggwang County. He stated, "The era of the Jeonnam Gwangju Integrated Special City will be a new growth opportunity for Yeonggwang," and added, "I will further develop Yeonggwang's energy industry and future growth strategies by linking them with the support system of the Integrated Special City."
The rally was attended by Min Hyungbae, the Democratic Party candidate for special mayor of the Jeonnam Gwangju Integrated Special City, National Assembly members Seo Samseok and Lee Gaeho, Democratic Party-affiliated local council candidates, party members, and supporters, all of whom appealed for support for Jang.
Jang presented a blueprint for Yeonggwang's development following the launch of the Integrated Special City, saying, "Yeonggwang is Korea's leading energy city, equipped with solar, wind, nuclear power, and future energy industry infrastructure." He emphasized, "I will usher in an era of basic income from solar and wind power, establish a clean hydrogen specialized complex and an RE100 industrial complex, and transform Yeonggwang into Korea's central energy city."

He continued, "Energy should not remain merely a means of production, but must become a source of income for residents and a driving force for the local economy," and pledged, "During the era of administrative integration, I will ensure Yeonggwang stands at the center of energy transition and future industries, not on the periphery."
Min Hyungbae presented support measures to foster Yeonggwang as a hub city for renewable energy in the Jeonnam Gwangju Integrated Special City.
Min's main pledges included: designating Yeonggwang as the pilot city for the National Energy Basic Income; expanding community dividends through profit-sharing power plants; building an 11GW offshore wind power cluster off the coast of Yeonggwang; creating a national clean hydrogen specialized industrial complex with an annual capacity of 170,000 tons; and legislating the establishment of a resident monitoring body for the Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant.
He stated, "With wind, solar, and nuclear power, Yeonggwang is the ideal location to realize the clean hydrogen industry and energy basic income," and added, "If Jang Seil is re-elected as county governor, I will actively support Yeonggwang's development as the special mayor."
National Assembly member Seo Samseok appealed, "For the success of the Lee Jaemyung administration, Democratic Party candidates must play a strong role at the local level," and urged, "Please unite your support behind Min Hyungbae and Jang Seil for Yeonggwang's development."
National Assembly member Lee Gaeho highly praised Jang's achievements in county governance and called for support.
Lee commented, "It is extremely rare for rural areas to see population growth, but Yeonggwang has maintained a population of over 54,000, showing its potential for growth. Having achieved the highest birth rate in the country for seven consecutive years and actively attracting investments from major companies, these are the results of Jang Seil's stable administration."
