Chungnam Election Commission Files Complaint Against 'A' Over Cash Envelope Allegations

Ahead of the June 3 local elections, Kim Kiwoong, the People Power Party candidate for governor of Seocheon County, Chungnam, and his spouse are facing allegations of distributing envelopes of cash and have been reported to the prosecution for violating the Public Official Election Act.
According to The Asia Business Daily's coverage on June 1, the Chungnam Election Commission filed a complaint with the prosecution on the same day against candidate Kim's spouse, identified as A, and others for suspected donation activities in violation of the Public Official Election Act.
A and others are suspected of handing an envelope containing cash to the owner of a pesticide store in the Seocheon area between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. on May 28.
