Ministry of Science and ICT to Upgrade Main Website for AI Compatibility... "PDFs to Be Offered in Parallel"
Project Notice Open for 10 Days
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on June 1 that it will upgrade its main website to be more AI-friendly, enabling artificial intelligence (AI) to easily and accurately access and utilize government policy information. The public notice for the website improvement project will be open for 10 days starting from today.
Through this upgrade project, the Ministry aims to transform the website by adopting an AI-friendly web structure, reorganizing content, and enhancing its delivery methods, while also broadly improving overall user experience for the public. Currently, a significant portion of the materials and the way they are posted on the website are designed for human readability and comprehension, but are not optimized for AI learning or search. File formats such as Hangul documents and images may present structural limitations, restricting AI accessibility and utilization.
The Ministry of Science and ICT plans to optimize and apply web structures and technologies—such as structured data (Schema Markup)—so that AI can quickly and easily process the information posted on the website. In addition, to ensure that content from the Ministry's website can be accurately referenced, summarized, and utilized, meta descriptions will be added to each webpage, and major bulletin boards will adopt AI-friendly document formats such as Markdown.
For attached documents that are currently provided primarily in Hangul file format, the Ministry plans to additionally offer formats such as PDF, which are more easily recognized by AI. Enhanced accessibility and openness of the main website will further improve user experience for the public. The Ministry also intends to conduct comprehensive quality control, including identifying and addressing web vulnerabilities and security risks.
