View original imageThe Ministry of Justice announced on June 1 that it has appointed Jungil Song, 55, former Director of the Seoul Juvenile Reformatory, as the new Director General of the Crime Prevention Policy Bureau.
The newly appointed director, Song, graduated from Daejeon High School and Chungnam National University. He entered public service after passing the 44th Higher Civil Service Examination in 2001. At the Ministry of Justice, he has held key positions in the field of protective policy, including Director of the Cheongju Probation Office, Director of the Crime Prevention Planning Division, Director of the Probation Division, and Director of the Seoul Juvenile Reformatory.

The Ministry of Justice stated, "Based on the diverse experience and expertise in protective policy that Director Song has accumulated in the field, we expect him to contribute to building an integrated crime prevention system. This includes strengthening the management and supervision of offenders and formulating measures to prevent juvenile recidivism, thereby protecting the safety and daily lives of the public from crime."
