View original imageAccording to the Korea Meteorological Administration on May 31, morning lows nationwide on the 1st will range from 14 to 21 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs will range from 27 to 32 degrees Celsius. Most regions across the country are expected to see temperatures around 30 degrees. Specifically, Seoul is forecast to have temperatures between 18 and 29 degrees, Incheon 17 to 28 degrees, Daejeon 17 to 30 degrees, Gwangju 17 to 30 degrees, Daegu 17 to 32 degrees, Ulsan 17 to 29 degrees, and Busan 19 to 28 degrees.
The Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon Province will be mostly cloudy, becoming gradually clear from the night. In Chungcheong and the southern regions, there will be periods of heavy cloud cover between morning and afternoon, while Jeju will remain mostly cloudy. Temperatures are expected to remain higher than average for the time being.

With early summer temperatures arriving at the start of June, forecasts suggest that this summer will be significantly hotter than in previous years. Arctic sea ice is at a record low, and North Pacific sea surface temperatures have remained high for several years. In the three-month outlook (June to August) announced by the Korea Meteorological Administration on May 22, there is a 60% chance that average temperatures in June and July will be higher than normal, a 30% chance they will be similar, and a 10% chance they will be lower. For August, there is a 50% chance that temperatures will be higher than normal, a 40% chance they will be similar, and a 10% chance they will be lower.
