"Spreading Lifestyle Culture"
Olive Young to Expand Operations into Eastern and Central-Southern U.S. Regions
CJ Group announced on May 31 that Chairman Jaehyun Lee inspected the Pasadena location in Los Angeles (LA), the first Olive Young store in the United States, on May 29 (local time), and discussed strategies for expanding its business in North America.
Chairman Lee stated, "The opening of the first Olive Young store in the U.S. is not just about launching a single store, but represents our first step into the world's largest market and a monumental start toward global expansion." He added, "We need to spread a healthy and stylish lifestyle culture into the daily lives of American customers."
CJ plans to establish Olive Young's core business district on the West Coast, centered around California, and then gradually expand into the East Coast and central-southern regions. The company is also working on strategies to create synergy with its food and entertainment businesses, such as Bibigo, Tous Les Jours, and KCON.
Prior to his visit to LA, Chairman Lee visited CJ CheilJedang Food America Inc. in Minnesota for the first time in seven years since 2019.
At the site, Chairman Lee emphasized, "CJ is a 'life company' with countless characteristics spanning food, beauty, style, and convenience, and it is important to create synergy as one team." He continued, "Based on the 'Only One' spirit that pursues being the first, the best, and differentiated, we must become the number one company in the food market."
Chairman Lee also reviewed plans to expand the North American operations of CJ Foodville, CJ ENM, and CJ Logistics.
