Oh Sehoon: "If Elected, I Will Attend Cabinet Meetings to Protect Citizens' Rights"
"Long-Term Ownership Deduction for Single-Home Owners Must Be Maintained"
"Withdrawing Indictments Signals the Start of a New Class Society... Will Prevent It"
Oh Se-hoon, the People Power Party candidate for Seoul mayor who is seeking his fifth term, stated on May 31, "If I am given one more opportunity to serve as mayor, I will attend the first Cabinet meeting immediately after the start of the 9th popularly elected term, present the five major demands of Seoul citizens to the President, and ensure that they are carried out."
On this day, Oh held a press conference at his campaign office in Gwancheol-dong, Jongno, Seoul, and made this appeal, saying, "Send me to the government Cabinet meeting as the 'representative of the citizens.'" The Seoul mayor, who is treated as a minister, is the only local government head with the right to speak at Cabinet meetings.

For real estate, he emphasized: ▲ Normalizing conditions for redevelopment and reconstruction projects by lifting loan restrictions on relocation expenses and removing limitations on transferring membership status in associations ▲ Revitalizing private rental housing supply to address the rental market crisis ▲ Establishing safeguards to prevent excessive real estate tax burdens.
To restore the people's economy and democracy, he suggested: ▲ Easing regulations in the capital region ▲ Preventing the withdrawal of indictments.
Oh asserted, "If the special long-term ownership deduction for single-home owners is abolished, those who have no other choice but to sell and move will suffer significant losses," stressing, "The current long-term ownership deduction for single-home owners must be maintained as is."
He also promised, "Although Seoul home prices have more than doubled since 2008, the standard tax base brackets for property tax have remained unchanged. We will work with the government to find solutions."
He further argued, "For single homes priced below the median in Seoul, the property tax burden should be limited to below the inflation rate, and the property tax base brackets should be rationally adjusted to reflect current housing prices."
Additionally, Oh said, "The President withdrawing indictments signals the beginning of a new hierarchical class society," and asserted, "If the Democratic Party pushes this through, the President must exercise the veto."
