Lee Sang-il, candidate for mayor of Yongin Special City from the People Power Party, made a final push to win over voters by traveling across Yongin on the last weekend before the June 3 local elections. After visiting Suji District, Cheoin District, and Giheung District to communicate directly with residents, he also continued his grassroots approach by attending a children’s event.

He appealed for support by personally greeting citizens who were out for morning walks and outings. Lee stated, "It is important to communicate through various events, but it is even more crucial to personally approach each and every resident in different parts of the city," adding, "I am here in the field with the sole intention of taking responsibility for the future of Yongin City and its citizens."
He continued, saying, "Communication with residents of Yongin must ultimately happen on the ground," and, "We must focus solely on the citizens. We cannot entrust the future of Yongin City to those who do not even know the local geography or local issues."
Lee emphasized, "It is my responsibility to protect the Yongin Semiconductor Project and local development from forces that seek to undermine Yongin’s future for political purposes."
Later, Lee visited Yongin Central Market in Cheoin District, where he met with local merchants and citizens, expressing his commitment to revitalizing the local economy. He said, "Yongin Central Market is a precious place where I always gain strength whenever I visit," and, "My goal is to support small business owners and residents and to safeguard everyone’s future."
He added, "I will not just be a voice; as I have shown with the achievements of the past four years, if re-elected, I will repay you with concrete results in the ninth popularly elected administration," once again appealing for support.
On site, citizens also expressed their support. One citizen commented, "Seeing him visit the field without rest even in hot weather makes his sincerity clear."
On this day, around 100 representatives of labor companies in Yongin also visited Lee’s Cheoin District campaign office to formally declare their support. A campaign official stated, "Many citizens resonate with candidate Lee’s tireless efforts to visit every corner of the community and communicate with residents day and night."
In the afternoon, Yang Hyangja, the People Power Party’s candidate for Gyeonggi Province governor, joined Lee for a joint campaign rally. Yang said, "Yongin is the heart of South Korea’s semiconductor industry and is emerging as a global advanced industry city," adding, "Lee Sang-il’s victory is necessary for Yongin’s continued development."
In response, Lee said, "Ultimately, it is the person who knows the local community and the field best who will be chosen by the citizens," and, "Yongin citizens will show their will through their votes."
That evening, Lee continued greeting citizens in the Giheung District area, stating, "I will always stay close to the people and listen to their voices."

At this event, hosted by Strawberry Daycare Center in Bora-dong, Giheung District, Lee said, "Children are the future and hope of Yongin," and wished everyone a joyful and happy time.
Lee also told the childcare teachers and parents, "Creating an environment where children can grow up happily is an important goal of city administration," and promised, "If I am re-elected, I will actively promote child and childcare policies so that parents can feel secure and children can live happily."
He continued, "I am grateful to the parents and childcare teachers who do their utmost for the happiness of the children, and I will continue to listen to voices from the field to protect the future of children as the re-elected mayor of Yongin."

An attendee at the sports day remarked, "In local elections, it is only right to choose a working administrator rather than a politician. Regardless of politics, what matters is protecting a Yongin where children can live happily, and in that respect, I am confident that the citizens of Yongin will open their hearts to candidate Lee Sang-il."
