He stated, "Within the Lee Jaemyung administration and the Democratic Party-controlled National Assembly, Democratic Party candidates are much more effective than independents," adding, "That is why we are asking you to choose Democratic Party candidates." He also noted, "Not all independent candidates are bad," but emphasized, "This is an election. In an election, we must focus on winning."
Chairman Jeong described this local election as "an election to root out the embers of insurrection," saying, "Although the major flames of insurrection are being extinguished, embers still remain and are stirring." He continued, "The three former presidents who should be receiving re-education in prison—Lee Myungbak, Park Geunhye, and Yoon Sukyeol—are traveling across the country," and stressed, "To eliminate both the major flames and the embers of insurrection, and to honor democracy and the spirit of the May 18 Democratization Movement, you must vote for Democratic Party candidates."
Chairman Jeong also visited Jindo, Jeollanam-do, on this day. He plans to continue his campaign tour by stopping in Jangheung and Suncheon, before heading to Hadong, Gyeongsangnam-do.
