Early Voting Turnout in Seoul Reaches 18.38%
As of 2:00 p.m. on the second day of early voting for the 9th simultaneous local elections, the voter turnout was recorded at 18.61%, which is an increase of 2.24 percentage points compared to the previous local elections.

View original imageAccording to the National Election Commission on May 30, a total of 8,308,933 out of 44,649,908 eligible voters had completed early voting from 6:00 a.m. the previous day to this point, resulting in a voter turnout of 18.61%. This figure is 2.24 percentage points higher than the early voting turnout of the 8th local elections at the same time four years ago (16.37%). It is also 1.11 percentage points higher than the turnout recorded one hour earlier (17.50%).
By region, Jeonnam (32.69%) reached a turnout in the 30% range for the first time in this round of early voting. It was followed by Jeonbuk (28.97%), Gangwon (22.21%), Gwangju (22.10%), Gyeongnam (19.66%), and Chungbuk (18.99%). Daegu had the lowest turnout at 14.68%. Seoul recorded 18.38%, which is 0.23 percentage points lower than the national average.

Early voting for these local elections is being held from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. today, following the same schedule as the previous day. Voters must bring identification to participate in early voting at their designated polling stations. The final early voting turnout for the 8th local elections was 20.62%.
