President Lee further stated, "Giving up your vote is like giving up the future for yourself and your family," adding, "Abstaining from voting is not a neutral act; it is siding with those who harm your life and community."
Earlier, on May 29, President Lee and First Lady Kim Hye-kyung cast their ballots at the early voting station set up at the Samcheong-dong Community Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the first day of early voting. This local election is the first nationwide election since the start of the Lee Jae-myung administration.
