Former President Park Geun-hye visited Changwon on May 29, the first day of early voting for the 9th nationwide local elections, after stopping in Namhae, South Gyeongsang Province, to campaign in support of People Power Party candidates.
At around 6 p.m. that day, former President Park met with citizens at Masan Fish Market in Masanhappo-gu, Changwon, together with Park Wansu, candidate for Governor of Gyeongnam Province, and Kang Kiyun, candidate for Mayor of Changwon Special City, appealing for their support.
Former President Park Geun-hye is greeting with the People Power Party candidate and Gyeongnam Provincial Party officials while receiving a bouquet from a supporter.

She also responded by waving to citizens who were chanting "President Park Geun-hye."
Former President Park said, "Candidate Park Wansu has been highly regarded for his management of Gyeongnam's affairs," adding, "I believe he will continue to play a significant role in the development of Gyeongnam, the industrial center of our country."
She continued, "Candidate Kang Kiyun is an engineer by training and has experience founding a company and creating jobs himself," and added, "I believe he can accomplish many things for the development of Changwon."
