PC DRAM Hits Record High at $20
NAND Continues 17-Month Climb
Driven by the surging demand for AI data centers, the average monthly prices of memory semiconductors—DRAM and NAND flash—continued to climb, reaching all-time highs.
The price of DDR4, a mainstream DRAM product, jumped 25% in a single month to reach 20 dollars, while the price of NAND also rose nearly 10%, surpassing 26 dollars.
According to market research firm DRAMeXchange on May 29, the average fixed transaction price for PC DRAM mainstream product (DDR4 8Gb 1Gx8) in May was 20 dollars, up 25% from the previous month’s 16 dollars. This marks the highest price since the survey began in June 2016.
The average price of DDR4 had risen for 11 consecutive months from April 2025 (1.65 dollars) through February of this year, but the upward trend paused in March as the price remained unchanged from the previous month.
However, last month, the price climbed again, rising 23.1% from the previous month to reach 16 dollars, and this month, it continued its double-digit growth.
TrendForce, the parent company of DRAMeXchange, forecast that DRAM prices would continue to rise in the second quarter of this year.
It projected that the fixed transaction price of PC DRAM in the second quarter would increase by 45–50% compared to the previous quarter.
TrendForce analyzed that, "Although the upward rally has somewhat eased compared to the explosive surge of 100–115% seen in the first quarter of this year, the transaction price in June is expected to remain at the same level as in May."

Furthermore, it raised its forecast for the third quarter’s growth rate in fixed PC DRAM prices from a previous estimate of 3–8% to a new range of 8–13% quarter-over-quarter. For the fourth quarter, it projected an increase of 0–5% compared to the prior quarter.
