DP's Cho Seung-rae: "No Second Forgiveness for Kim Kwan-young in Jeonbuk... Habitual Liar"
Jeong Cheongrae to Support Campaign in Iksan on June 1
Cho Seungrae, Chief of the Democratic Party's General Election Committee, stated at a press conference held at the National Assembly on the afternoon of May 29, targeting independent candidate Kim Kwan-young, who is running for governor of North Jeolla Province and was expelled over the "cash envelope proxy fee" scandal, "Though it is unlikely, if Kim is elected, there will have to be a new election for the North Jeolla governorship."
Chief Cho pointed out, "Kim himself admitted to providing at least 700,000 won in cash, and we have verified amounts close to 1 million won," adding, "Should we turn a blind eye just because the person who illegally distributed cash is candidate Kim?"

He continued, "To clarify, Kim is not the first specially recruited talent, but rather the first to be forgiven by the Democratic Party. I've heard he wants to return. The party forgave him once, but do you think it can happen twice?"
This refers to the fact that Kim returned to the Democratic Party after leaving in 2021, a year before the 2022 presidential election, and running under other parties such as the People’s Party, as part of a pardon for those who had left and run under different affiliations.
