Yoon Hojoong: "If Voting on June 3 Is Difficult, Vote Early Today or Tomorrow"
Held Nationwide at 3,571 Early Voting Stations on May 29-30
Yoon Ho-joong, Minister of the Interior and Safety, cast his vote as a citizen at an early voting station in Jochiwon-eup, Sejong City, on May 29, the first day of early voting for the 9th nationwide simultaneous local elections.
On this day, Minister Yoon visited the civil service office on the first floor of the Jochiwon-eup Administrative Welfare Center, where he received a mobile resident registration card, which holds the same legal validity as the physical resident registration card.
The mobile resident registration card can be issued at any resident center, regardless of address, as long as the physical card is presented. It can be used in all places where the physical resident registration card is accepted, such as government offices, banks, airports, and hospitals.
Early voting is a system designed for citizens who may have difficulty voting on election day, June 3. Any eligible voter can cast their ballot at any of the early voting stations set up in towns, townships, and neighborhoods nationwide by presenting valid identification. This round of early voting will be held simultaneously across 3,571 early voting stations nationwide on both May 29 and May 30.
This local election is a large-scale event to elect 4,227 local officials, including metropolitan mayors and governors, superintendents of education, and members of both metropolitan and city, county, and district councils. Voters will generally receive seven types of ballots, and those in constituencies holding a by-election for the National Assembly will receive up to eight types of ballots.
