On May 29, Chonnam National University announced that its College of Arts has begun operating the "ART Challenger Academy," an AI and culture-arts convergence education program for young adults preparing for independence.

The College of Arts at Chonnam National University held an inaugural ceremony for the first cohort of the "ART Challenger Academy" for these young adults on May 27. The ceremony was the first official program following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Gwangju Independence Support Center, and included participant introductions, program guidance, and sharing of operational directions.

The "ART Challenger Academy" is part of Chonnam National University's Glocal University Project, aiming to strengthen the AI employment capabilities of young adults preparing for independence and to promote the value of culture and the arts. Participants will use AI to create their own outcomes and engage in culture-arts-based self-growth programs, reflecting on themselves and exploring new possibilities.

Jung Jungho, Dean of the College of Arts at Chonnam National University (and Director of the BK21 Human Care Design Convergence Talent Education Research Group), stated, "The ability to utilize AI is a core competitive strength for young people," adding, "I hope that the ART Challenger Academy provides participants with new experiences and challenges, and offers practical help in career planning."

The College of Arts at Chonnam National University plans to continue strengthening AI job competencies and promoting the value of culture and the arts for young adults preparing for independence, while pursuing various collaborative activities with the local community.
