KOSPI Stays Flat at 8,400... KOSDAQ Turns Upward
Foreign Investors and Individuals Selling
Institutional Buying Continues
Despite selling by foreign investors and individuals, the KOSPI is remaining steady around the 8,400-point mark, supported by institutional buying.
As of 12:49 p.m. on May 29, the KOSPI was trading at 8,417.08, up 2.8% from the previous trading day.
By investor type, foreign investors and individuals have net sold 1.971 trillion won and 747.9 billion won, respectively, while institutions have net purchased 2.6435 trillion won.
By sector, more industries are on the rise. Telecommunications rose 3.85%, electrical and electronics increased 3.46%, transportation equipment and parts climbed 2.72%, distribution advanced 2.69%, and manufacturing gained 2.94%. In contrast, medical and precision instruments were down 3.1%, and non-metallic minerals fell 1.48%.

LG Electronics surged 29.4%, Samsung Electro-Mechanics increased 15%, Hyundai Mobis rose 9.3%, Hyundai Motor gained 6.5%, and Samsung C&T advanced 6.1%. Samsung Electronics and SK hynix each rose 4.5% and 1%, respectively.
The KOSDAQ index, after showing weakness earlier, has turned upward. At the same time, the KOSDAQ was trading at 1,079.36, down 2.26% from the previous day. The KOSDAQ dropped to as low as 1,058.13 around 11:18 a.m., but later reversed course and has since been fluctuating sideways. Individuals have net purchased 297.2 billion won, while foreign investors and institutions have net sold 156.3 billion won and 145.2 billion won, respectively.

Among the top KOSDAQ stocks by market cap, most are declining except for Roboteez (up 7.3%) and Rainbow Robotics (up 1.8%). EO Technics fell 6.1%, Voronoi dropped 5.3%, Peptron lost 5.1%, Seojin System declined 4.5%, LIG ChemBio decreased 3.1%, and Ecopro was down 2.9%.
