Jung Cheongrae, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, appealed for support for Democratic Party candidates on the first day of early voting for the 9th nationwide local elections, during the Seoul Field Central Election Countermeasures Committee meeting held in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 27th. He urged voters to "elect local workers who will join forces with the government and the ruling party."
He then created an acrostic poem using the name of Seoul mayoral candidate Jeong Wonoh, stating, "Candidate Jeong is someone who has always excelled at his work. Please vote for Candidate Jeong right now, today." He added, "If you want a local government that works well in perfect harmony with the Lee Jaemyung administration as one team, then for Seoul, vote for Democratic Party candidate number 1, Candidate Jeong."

Han Byungdo, the Democratic Party floor leader, rebuked, "Has candidate Oh already forgotten how many safety accidents have occurred in Seoul during his four terms?" He continued, "We can no longer entrust the safety of 10 million Seoul citizens to someone who does not even get the basics right (referring to candidate Oh). Candidate Jeong is different. He served as mayor of Seongdong-gu for 12 years, always prioritizing citizen safety," he added.
Candidate Jeong emphasized, "If I become mayor, my first order of business will be a safety inspection of all construction sites across Seoul," and "I will establish a Life and Safety Committee directly under the mayor's office as the control tower for Seoul's safety administration."
