In the video, Joo Ho-min discussed his experiences under the theme of "hitting rock bottom," and mentioned the situation he faced following the controversy over the lawsuit against the special education teacher.
Joo Ho-min began by saying, "In July 2023, when news broke about my child, I hit rock bottom." He went on to explain that, as he came to be seen as a "power-abusing parent," his broadcasting work dwindled and he felt he became someone who was difficult to mention in public.
He also shared the pressure he experienced as the controversy intensified. Joo Ho-min said, "At first, I thought people had misunderstood, and I believed that if I explained myself, the situation would soon calm down." However, as the story was covered by various media outlets and YouTube channels, the controversy grew much faster than he had expected.
Joo Ho-min revealed that he experienced both anger and depression as he went through the controversy. He stated, "There are many layers to the story, but people don't want to see them," and said that, in the end, he was perceived as "a bad person," "a strange person," or "someone who is different on the inside than on the outside." He added, "After that, I just learned to accept it and live with it."
He also mentioned that he is currently searching for things he can do. Joo Ho-min said, "I feel that there is no other choice," and added, "So I'm just trying to find what I can do in this situation." In particular, he shared that he is turning the incident into a comic and hopes to eventually transform this experience into a creative work.
Previously, in 2022, Joo Ho-min and his spouse filed a complaint against special education teacher A, who was in charge of their child with autism spectrum disorder, on charges of emotional child abuse. At that time, Joo Ho-min's son had been separated into a special class after exposing part of his body during a school lesson.
During the trial, a key point of contention was whether a recorded conversation from a device the couple had placed in their child's bag could be admitted as evidence.

In the first trial, the court found teacher A partially guilty and suspended a fine of 2 million won. However, in the appeals trial, the court ruled that the recording and transcript could not be used as evidence and overturned the initial verdict, finding the teacher not guilty. After the prosecution appealed the appellate ruling, the case is now awaiting a Supreme Court decision.
