Han Donghoon Urges Voters: "A Historic Election to Rebuild Conservatism... Please Make Sure to Vote"
Han Donghoon, an independent candidate for the by-election in Buk-gu Gap, Busan, stated on May 29, "This by-election in Buk-gu Gap, Busan, is a historic election that will revitalize Buk-gu, which has stagnated for 20 years, rebuild the conservative camp, and put an end to the reckless actions of the Lee Jae-myung administration." He added, "Regardless of whether it is advantageous or disadvantageous for me, I sincerely ask everyone to come out and vote."
After casting his early ballot at the Administrative Welfare Center in Mandeok 2-dong, Buk-gu, Busan, Han met with reporters nearby and shared his thoughts on exercising his right to vote, saying, "I voted with a sense of responsibility, earnestness, and urgency."
Regarding the so-called 'blackout' period caused by the ban on publishing poll results, Han commented, "The trend of public sentiment is clear. Ahead of the blackout, seven polls were released, and in all of them—whether in a three-way race or a two-way race—I was shown to be ahead (within or outside the margin of error). I believe the will of the people is both great and humbling. With a sense of reverence and earnestness toward the public sentiment, I will do my utmost."
When asked about the previous day's TV debate—which was characterized as a heated exchange filled with negativity—Han said, "Ha Jungwoo, the candidate from the Democratic Party of Korea, was consistently irritable and behaved as if he were in a prosecutor's interrogation room." He added, "He even spread clear falsehoods, but I trust the wise citizens of Buk-gu, Busan, will make their own judgment."

Regarding why his spouse, Jin Eunjeong, did not participate in early voting that day, Han explained, "We originally planned to vote together, but my wife said she wanted to experience standing in line with local residents on the main voting day, and I agreed that it was a good idea." He continued, "Today, my wife accompanied me while I voted early, and on the main voting day, I intend to accompany her when she goes to cast her vote."
