PPP: "Over Eight Regions Including Seoul and Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Are Battlegrounds... Urge Voters to Judge Democratic Party's Arrogance"
"Support Base Consolidates After Park Geun-hye's Endorsement... Extremely Tight Races Emerging Nationwide"
"Seoul, Gangwon, Chungcheong, and Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Seen as Competitive... Strong Confidence in Daegu-Gyeongbuk"
Jeong Heeyong, head of the People Power Party's Election Countermeasures Headquarters, stated on the 28th, "We consider Daegu and North Gyeongsang to be advantageous regions, while Seoul, Gangwon, Chungcheong, and the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam (Busan-Ulsan-North Gyeongsang) areas are seen as competitive regions."
At a press meeting held at the party's central office in Yeouido, Seoul, Jeong appealed for votes, saying, "We ask voters to keep the runaway rule of the Lee Jaemyung administration in check and to judge the unqualified Democratic Party candidates."
The regions Jeong referred to as competitive on this day include at least eight areas: Seoul, Gangwon, Daejeon, South Chungcheong, North Chungcheong, Busan, Ulsan, and South Gyeongsang. On the other hand, he expressed confidence about having an advantage in Daegu and North Gyeongsang.

He added, "With on-the-ground campaigning by our candidates and after former President Park Geun-hye's support, our base has become more consolidated, and extremely close races are emerging in various places."
Regarding the parliamentary by-elections, he said, "We believe Dalseong County in Daegu is an advantageous region, while Nam-gu Gap in Ulsan and Gongju-Buyeo-Cheongyang in South Chungcheong are slightly favorable in competitive races."
However, about the Busan Buk-gu Gap by-election, which is drawing significant public attention, he stated, "We humbly accept the public sentiment in Buk-gu Gap," and added, "We expect former President Park's schedule in Busan to serve as a springboard for catching up." On the possibility of a unified conservative candidate, he said, "We will respect the candidate's position."
Regarding former President Park's support campaign, Jeong explained, "She has come out to the field due to concern and a sense of urgency over the arrogance of the Lee Jaemyung administration and the Democratic Party, and unchecked power."
Jeong characterized the upcoming June 3 local elections as "an election that will determine the fate of the Republic of Korea" and criticized, "Lee Jaemyung's recent moves in the provinces go beyond the use of government power in the election and show him acting as the Democratic Party's election committee chief, not the president."
He further argued, "The Democratic Party is trying to eliminate the president-related trial itself by seeking to withdraw charges," and insisted, "This election must protect the rule of law and constitutional values."
