Born on July 30, 1980, Justin Rose of England is now 45 years old. In just two months, he will turn 46. This is the profile of veteran golfer Justin Rose.
He is delivering performances that seem to defy the passage of time, proving his abilities on the PGA Tour, where the world's top players compete. Turning professional in 1998, Rose has amassed 13 victories on the PGA Tour, 11 victories on the DP World Tour, and a total of 27 professional wins in his career.
In major tournaments, he claimed victory at the 2013 U.S. Open and won a gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Starting September 9, 2018, he held the world No. 1 ranking for 13 consecutive weeks. As of May 29, he is ranked fifth in the world, marking his return to the top five after six years.

He also finished tied for third at the Masters in April and tied for tenth at the PGA Championship on May 18, showcasing his strength in major events. What is the secret to Rose's continued competitiveness on the PGA Tour?
Rose has shown no weaknesses this year. His average driving distance is 306.8 yards (ranking 59th), fairway accuracy is 59.39% (73rd), greens in regulation rate is 70.16% (13th), and he averages 1.74 putts per hole (58th). He is particularly strong around the greens, ranking 18th with 0.475 strokes gained in approach play.
He is extremely disciplined in self-management. His role model is Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic, who at age 39 has won a career Grand Slam and secured a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Rose has said, "Djokovic is my source of inspiration. His secret to longevity is my benchmark." Rose puts in tremendous effort to maintain peak performance, especially investing significant time in physical training to compete against players in their twenties.

It is equipped with a hot tub, cold plunge, steam shower, infrared sauna, and a coffee machine. There is also a spin bike connected to an oxygen bag. While the PGA Tour provides recovery equipment for players, Rose's setup is unmatched in convenience and variety. He emphasized, "I think this is a competitive advantage. You have to train consistently and create favorable conditions for yourself."
He does not hesitate to change equipment if it means staying competitive. This year, he partnered with McLaren Golf, collaborating with the Formula 1 powerhouse McLaren to launch a new line of golf equipment. Over the past 18 months, he has tested and refined these products. Rose first used this equipment at the Cadillac Championship last month. Some have pointed out that this timing could be an unnecessary risk, but Rose is proving that his decision was correct with his results.

Early in 2023, his world ranking dropped to around 800th place, and he also endured the pain of parting ways with swing coach Sean Foley. Despite difficult circumstances, he did not falter. After bringing in Mark Blackburn, he renewed his focus, choosing not to dwell on mistakes but to maximize his strengths. He developed a compact swing that enabled him to produce a stable draw shot.
With precision and savvy course management, Rose is experiencing a career peak in his mid-forties. Blackburn praised him, saying, "He trains as hard as a 25-year-old. He is a perfectionist. Even at 45, I believe he will win many more major championships."

Rose has missed out on Masters victories several times, finishing runner-up three times in 2015, 2017, and 2025. This year, after a fierce battle for the title, he finished tied for third. Rose explained his longevity by saying, "As I get older, I try to find new habits and methods for improvement. There are many aspects of the game where age does not have a big impact. Most importantly, I still enjoy the process. When you are enjoying yourself on the course, you do not feel your age."
