Wave Introduces Media Commerce Feature as First in Domestic OTT
Olive Young Products Now Available During Golf Broadcasts
Live Channels Expanded to Forty-Five
Wave announced on May 28 that it will become the first domestic OTT platform to introduce a media commerce feature and expand live channels within its TV application.
The media commerce feature operates as a "commerce band," which displays products related to the viewing context at the bottom of the video player. When users click on a product, they are taken to the purchase page.
The first partner is Olive Young. For example, while watching a golf broadcast, sports-related beauty products such as sunscreen and UV protection patches will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

The TV app has added a new "LIVE Home" section and increased the number of real-time channels from the previous golf- and news-focused lineup to forty-five. Newly added options include binge-watching channels like the originals Blood Game and KBS 2 Days & 1 Night, sports channels such as K Sports TV and Ball TV, kids' channels like Animax and Bravo Kids, as well as economic and radio channels. A "time machine" feature has also been added, allowing users to jump to desired scenes in missed broadcasts.
