Korean Academy of Film Arts to Launch Filmmaker Training Program from June 17
AI Short Film Production, International Co-Production Strategies, and More
330 Hours of Training for 720 Participants
The Korean Film Council announced on May 28 that the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA) will run the 'KAFA+ Filmmaker Training Program' starting from June 17. The program will be managed by the Industry-University Cooperation Foundation of Chung-Ang University and will be conducted over a total of 330 hours for 720 participants.
This year, the program has strengthened its curriculum in cutting-edge film technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual production. The target participants include early-career filmmakers with less than one year of experience and industry professionals who have credits on released films. More than thirty-six instructors, including directors, producers, cinematographers, and AI experts, will lead the classes.

The training program will be offered in three tracks: regular, specialized, and special courses. The regular course provides step-by-step training for each role, such as planning, directing, cinematography, and art. The specialized track covers AI short film production, strategies for international co-productions, and eco-friendly film production. This track will be held from July to October for regional filmmakers.
