U.S. Launches Additional Strikes on Iranian Military Base After Three Days... Explosions Heard Near Hormuz
As the peace negotiations between the United States and Iran near their final stages, the sound of explosions was heard again in a city near the Strait of Hormuz, just three days after a previous incident.
According to Iran's Fars News Agency and others on May 28, at around 1:30 a.m. that day, three explosions were heard to the east of Bandar Abbas, a southern port city in Iran, which prompted the activation of the air defense system for several minutes.

CNN, citing U.S. officials, reported that on this day, the U.S. military carried out new airstrikes targeting facilities near the Strait of Hormuz in Iran, which posed a threat to U.S. forces and commercial shipping. The U.S. also shot down four Iranian attack drones in the operation. The official said that a fifth drone was about to be launched from an Iranian ground control base in Bandar Abbas targeted by the U.S. military, adding that this action was limited in scope and purely defensive, intended to maintain the ceasefire.
