Samsung Display to Unveil World's First 4K 360Hz QD-OLED Monitor at "Computex 2026"
First Monitor to Achieve 4K Resolution and 360Hz Refresh Rate Simultaneously
Supply Discussions Underway with Over 10 Global Brands
Samsung Display has successfully developed a QD-OLED display for monitors that, for the first time, simultaneously achieves 4K resolution and a high refresh rate of 360Hz. The company will unveil this innovation for the first time at "Computex 2026" next month.
On May 28, Samsung Display announced that it will showcase a 31.5-inch 4K 360Hz Quantum Dot OLED (QD-OLED) monitor panel to customers and the media at "Computex 2026," Asia's largest information technology (IT) exhibition, which will be held from June 2 to 5 in Taipei, Taiwan. While there have previously been monitors supporting either 4K resolution or refresh rates above 360Hz, Samsung Display is the first to achieve both specifications simultaneously.

View original imageUntil now, the industry has typically lowered the refresh rate to 240Hz or below to achieve 4K resolution, or conversely, reduced the resolution to QHD levels to achieve refresh rates of 360Hz or higher. This is because implementing both high resolution and high refresh rates requires processing a significantly larger amount of pixel data per second, which greatly increases the pixel charge time and the burden on the driving circuitry.
However, with the recent increase in games featuring lifelike graphics and ultra-high-definition video content, consumer demand for monitors capable of both high resolution and fast refresh rates has grown. In response, Samsung Display has focused on developing a monitor QD-OLED that combines 4K resolution and a 360Hz refresh rate, aiming for the highest specifications. As a result, the company overcame technical limitations by optimizing the panel’s circuitry and driving system, successfully developing the most advanced QD-OLED for monitors to date.
This new product boasts top-tier specifications not only in ultra-high resolution and ultra-high refresh rates, but also in other features such as dual mode, high brightness, and text readability.
In particular, with the application of a "dual mode" feature that allows flexible adjustment of resolution and refresh rate depending on the user environment, it is possible to increase the refresh rate up to 680Hz by lowering the resolution to FHD. Furthermore, for the first time in a monitor panel, it supports VESA’s “Display HDR™ True Black (TB) 600” certification, achieving higher brightness compared to existing premium self-emitting monitors.
The new product will also feature the "V-Stripe" pixel structure, a new technology released this year. V-Stripe arranges RGB sub-pixels in vertical stripes, allowing for sharper rendering of text edges.
Regarding the supply of the 31.5-inch 4K 360Hz product, Samsung Display is currently in discussions with around 10 global customers and plans to begin full-scale mass production in the second half of this year.
