Chilbaekui Tomb Management Office to Hold Memorial Performance Competition
For Elementary and Middle School Students in Chungcheongnam-do, Daejeon, and Sejong
The Chilbaekui Tomb Management Office of the Cultural Heritage Administration announced on May 28 that it will hold a memorial performance competition at the Chilbaekui Tomb in Geumsan County, Chungcheongnam-do, at 1 p.m. on June 13.

View original imageThe Chilbaekui Tomb is a nationally designated historic site commemorating the historical event during the Japanese invasions of Korea (Imjin War), in which volunteer troops and warrior monks led by militia leader Cho Heon and Monk Yeonggyu sacrificed their lives fighting against Japanese invaders.
The competition will take the form of a drawing contest under the themes of commemorating the Seven Hundred Warriors and patriotism. It is open to elementary and middle school students from Chungcheongnam-do, Daejeon, and Sejong.

A total of 24 winners will be selected, including ten recipients of the Grand Prize and fourteen recipients of the Excellence Prize. The award-winning works will be exhibited at the Chilbaekui Tomb Memorial Hall for one year starting in September.
