According to police and fire authorities, at 12:20 p.m. on the same day, three workers were buried when soil collapsed during the maintenance of an old, deteriorated sewage pipeline on a road in Suseo-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Two of the workers managed to escape on their own, but a man in his 60s was rescued in cardiac arrest and transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
