Bucheon City to Cover Differential Dementia Screening Costs for All Citizens Aged 60 and Over
Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on May 27 that it will support the costs of differential dementia screening tests for citizens aged 60 and over, without applying any income criteria.
The city has expanded the eligibility for this support starting this year to facilitate early detection of dementia among local residents and to ease the financial burden of screening costs.
Accordingly, citizens aged 60 and over can receive free preliminary and diagnostic dementia screening at their nearest dementia care centers in Wonmi, Sosa, or Ojeong. If the test results indicate a suspicion of dementia, a differential diagnosis will be conducted, and the city will partially cover the costs incurred during this process.
However, free preliminary and diagnostic tests, as well as support for the differential diagnosis costs, are only available when the tests are conducted through dementia care centers in Bucheon.

The scope of support covers the patient's co-payment for covered (insured) services, excluding non-covered (uninsured) items. The city provides up to 80,000 won per person at clinics, hospitals, and general hospitals, and up to 110,000 won per person at tertiary general hospitals.
