Gyeongbuk Province to Provide Up to 300,000 Won in Housing Brokerage Fees for Low-Income Residents Moving In
On May 27, the Gyeongbuk Provincial Government announced that it is implementing the "2026 Housing Brokerage Fee Support Program for Housing-Vulnerable Groups" to ease housing cost burdens and promote housing stability for vulnerable residents in the province.
This program provides financial support from provincial funds of up to 300,000 won (including VAT) for actual brokerage fees paid by basic livelihood recipients and the lower-income class. Eligible individuals must have purchased or entered into a jeonse or monthly rental contract for housing valued at 100 million won or less through a registered real estate agency and completed their move-in registration. Notably, Gyeongbuk Province has expanded the scope of beneficiaries by offering retroactive support for contracts signed on or after January 1, 2025.
Eligible applicants include those who have moved between cities and counties within Gyeongbuk Province or relocated from other cities or provinces into Gyeongbuk. Support is provided only once within two years from the contract signing date. However, individuals who have already received brokerage fee support from other institutions or organizations, or who did not bear brokerage costs themselves (such as in LH Jeonse rental housing), are excluded from eligibility.
To apply, residents must visit the real estate department of their local city, county, or district government in their new area of residence, submitting the housing brokerage fee support application form, proof of benefit recipient or lower-income class status, resident registration certificate (including address changes for the past five years), a copy of the sales or lease contract, a copy of the brokerage fee (commission) receipt, a copy of a bankbook (excluding those under seizure protection), and a consent form for the collection and use of personal data and provision to third parties.
Applications are accepted from the 21st of each month until the 20th of the following month. After review, support funds are collectively paid into the applicant's account at the beginning of the next month. Gyeongbuk Province paid a total of 12.86 million won for 73 applications submitted between January and April 20, 2026.
