Lunit and Leica Launch AI Biomarker 'Lunit SCOPE PD-L1 CAL10'
Medical artificial intelligence (AI) company Lunit announced on May 27 that it has launched an AI-based PD-L1 biomarker solution in partnership with Leica Biosystems (Leica), a global leader in cancer diagnosis and digital pathology.
Lunit and Leica entered into a collaboration in March to develop digital pathology solutions. As the first outcome of this partnership, they have released the "Lunit SCOPE PD-L1 CAL10" solution for the research-oriented exploration and analysis of the PD-L1 biomarker in non-small cell lung cancer.
This solution is optimized for Leica’s PD-L1 antibody "CAL10" and enables rapid and quantitative analysis of the lung cancer biomarker PD-L1 CAL10. This helps to reduce inter-observer variability, shorten diagnostic and analysis times, and ultimately enhances both consistency and efficiency.
The Lunit SCOPE PD-L1 CAL10 can be immediately used through an integrated workflow linked to Leica’s Aperio GT 450 digital pathology scanner.
Karan Arora, Senior Vice President of Advanced Staining, AI & Pharma Partnerships at Leica, stated, "With this product launch, we are now able to support seamless biomarker analysis work in digital pathology research environments," adding, "Our long-term goal is to help researchers use AI solutions more efficiently."
