Gyeonggi Province Launches 'AI Digital Learning Center' Offering AI and Kiosk Training for 150,000 Residents
Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Business & Science Accelerator will launch the "2026 Gyeonggi AI Digital Learning Center" program across local areas starting May 27, aiming to strengthen all residents' digital literacy and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
The Gyeonggi AI Digital Learning Center is an educational program designed so that any resident facing challenges with digital technology can easily and conveniently learn about AI and digital skills.
This year, Gyeonggi Province plans to offer customized educational courses for approximately 150,000 people, including digitally vulnerable groups, youth, middle-aged adults, and small business owners, tailored by generation and skill level.
The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, from practical digital education such as using smartphones, kiosks, and mobile financial services, to generative AI applications, data literacy, and digital ethics. The courses are divided into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, allowing anyone to participate according to their digital experience.
This year, the program places special emphasis on generative AI training. It offers hands-on instruction in AI-based document creation, image generation, and work automation. In addition, online entrepreneurship, promotional content production, and AI-powered SNS marketing courses for young people and small business owners will also be offered.
For residents unfamiliar with digital devices, basic courses will cover fundamental smartphone usage, how to access public services, and how to use unmanned ordering machines. There will also be mobile classes and an "Edu Bus" to reach older adults and those in information-vulnerable regions.
In addition, the province will utilize city and county training centers and local hub institutions so that residents can conveniently participate in classes near their homes. This year, two new hub centers will be added in Namyangju and Ansan, expanding the total number of hub centers to eight and experience zones to eleven.
In each experience zone, AI digital assistants (guides) will be stationed to support a variety of AI practice lessons, including kiosks, robots, and virtual reality (VR) devices.
Residents who wish to participate can check available courses and schedules and apply through the AI Digital Learning Center website (AI디지털배움터.kr). For inquiries, a dedicated call center is available at 1800-0096.
