Resources Provided for Generative AI Model Training and Service Development
Recruitment Open Until June 10 for SMEs, Universities, and Research Institutes
Selected Organizations to Receive GPU, HPC, and 50TB Storage

The Gwangju National AI Data Center will provide high-performance computing resources to domestic artificial intelligence (AI) companies, universities, and research institutes. This initiative aims to support the training of AI models and service development that require large-scale computation, such as generative AI. Selected organizations will be able to utilize the data center's infrastructure from July to December.

The Artificial Intelligence Industry Convergence Project Group (AICA) announced on the 26th that, together with the Ministry of Science and ICT and Gwangju City, it will conduct the "2026 Second Half Regular Recruitment for AI Data Center Service Users." Applications can be submitted until 2:00 p.m. on June 10th.

The purpose of this project is to provide domestic AI companies, universities, and research institutions with a cloud-based development environment and computing resources by utilizing the high-performance infrastructure of the National AI Data Center.

The second half recruitment will focus on GPU and up to 6 petaflops (PF) of high-performance computing (HPC) resources. The initiative is centered on supporting AI model training and inference service development in fields that require large-scale computation, including generative AI.

Eligible applicants include domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), venture and startup companies, universities, university hospitals, public institutions, research institutes, and associations or organizations. Each organization can apply for up to two projects, and approximately nine organizations will be selected.

The recruitment is divided into two tracks that support dynamic HPC resources of up to 6PF, and three tracks that provide a GPU Live environment based on two H100 GPUs.

Selected organizations will be provided with GPU and HPC resources, as well as 50TB of basic storage and backup space, AI development tools, and security services. Major AI framework-based development environments such as TensorFlow and PyTorch will also be supported, enabling AI model training and service development without the need to build separate infrastructure.

Additional support includes SaaS features such as text-to-speech (TTS), speech-to-text (STT), and optical character recognition (OCR), as well as security services including DDoS protection, SSL, and VPN.

Applications can be submitted online through the National AI Data Center project management system.

Oh Sangjin, head of the Artificial Intelligence Industry Convergence Project Group, stated, "The National AI Data Center is a core infrastructure that connects AI research and development with the industrial field," adding, "We will continue to support domestic AI companies and research institutions so that they can pursue technology development and validation in a stable environment."
