Samsung Electronics to Supply 'High-Efficiency Heat Pump Solutions' to Large-Scale Residential Complex in Poland
Secured Project for 370-Building Residential Complexes Across Four Cities
High-Efficiency 'DVM S2' and 'DVM Hydro Unit' Supplied
Remote Integrated Management via 'SmartThings Pro' Connectivity
Samsung Electronics is accelerating its expansion into the European B2B (business-to-business) market by supplying large-scale, eco-friendly, high-efficiency heat pump solutions and an AI-powered integrated building management system to a massive multi-family housing complex being developed in Poland.
On May 26, Samsung Electronics announced that it would provide high-efficiency heat pump solutions and its B2B integrated control platform, 'SmartThings Pro,' to a residential complex development project led by Poland's leading energy supplier, Ekopark.
This project is a large-scale multi-family housing development planned for approximately 825,000 square meters (about 25,000 pyeong) across four cities: Białystok, a major city in northeastern Poland known for its abundant green spaces, as well as Przeworsk, Nakło, and Bielsk Podlaski, with a total of 370 buildings. The Polish government offers subsidies for reducing carbon emissions in line with Europe's carbon-neutral policies, which has resulted in continuous growth in heat pump product sales.
For this project, Samsung Electronics will supply its high-efficiency, large-capacity heat pump outdoor unit, 'DVM S2,' featuring enhanced AI capabilities, as well as the heat pump indoor unit, 'DVM Hydro Unit.' The DVM S2 is equipped with 'Active AI' functionality, which learns environmental conditions in real time to conserve energy and deliver optimal heating performance.
The DVM Hydro Unit, which is the indoor component, connects to the DVM S2 outdoor unit to provide heating and hot water at temperatures up to 80°C. By utilizing refrigerant for both heating and hot water supply, this product generates less carbon dioxide compared to fossil fuel-based boilers. As it is powered by electricity, it also reduces energy costs for users compared to conventional boilers.
Samsung Electronics has adopted the latest cloud-based B2B building management solution, 'SmartThings Pro,' to efficiently control the residential complexes in the four cities. The 'Device Management Solution (DMS)' installed in each complex centrally controls heat pump indoor and outdoor units, as well as heating and hot water equipment inside the buildings, thereby managing the heating of the entire building more efficiently.
In addition, integration with SmartThings Pro enables systematic management and control not only of mechanical room facilities but also of all smart devices across the entire complex and public facilities. Property managers can use an integrated dashboard to monitor energy consumption for each building at a glance and track any anomalies in real time, allowing for efficient energy management. Furthermore, the AI analyzes real-time operation data from system air conditioners and provides fault prediction and diagnostic capabilities, enabling early detection of abnormal signs and timely intervention before failures occur.
Lim Sungtaek, Executive Vice President of the Digital Appliances (DA) Division at Samsung Electronics, stated, "We will further enhance our differentiated heat pump technology and integrated management system to strengthen our B2B competitiveness."
