On May 25, with just nine days remaining until the 9th nationwide local elections to be held on June 3, the Democratic Party is focusing its efforts on securing voter support, particularly in Jeonbuk, its traditional stronghold, and the Chungcheong region, considered a barometer for centrist voters.

View original imageOn this day, Jeong Cheong-rae, Chief Standing Election Countermeasure Chairman, and Han Byung-do, Co-Chief Standing Election Countermeasure Chairman, will each visit Jeongeup in Jeonbuk and the Chungnam region in the morning to gauge grassroots public sentiment.
Chairman Jeong will preside over a Central Election Countermeasure Committee meeting in Jeongeup, Jeonbuk in the morning, and then move on to Jeonju to participate in campaign rallies supporting the Democratic Party’s candidates in the Jeonbuk region.
He also plans to meet with citizens around Chonbuk National University to appeal for their support.
In the afternoon, he will head to Chungnam to support Seocheon County Mayor Yoo Seung-kwang and Boryeong City Mayor candidate Lee Young-woo. This marks his return to Chungnam four days after his first official campaign visit at the start of the election period.
On the same day, Chairman Han will visit Nonsan and Cheonan in Chungnam, where he will hold a press conference on advanced defense industries with Nonsan City Mayor candidate Oh In-hwan. He will then join campaign rallies in support of Jeon Eun-soo, candidate for National Assembly in Asan, Chungnam, and Hyun Geun-taek, candidate for Yongin City Mayor.
