A man in his 40s has been arrested for breaking into actress Kim Gyuri's residence, demanding valuables, and committing assault.
According to the legal community on May 23, the Seoul Central District Court issued an arrest warrant for a man in his 40s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of robbery resulting in injury, citing concerns of possible flight.
After completing his pre-arrest detention hearing (warrant hearing) that day, Mr. A admitted to the charges, telling reporters who asked about his motive, "I am sorry."
Mr. A is suspected of unlawfully entering Kim's residence in Bukchon Hanok Village, Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the night of May 20. At the time, Kim and an acquaintance were present in the home, and Mr. A reportedly assaulted both of them.

Responding to the report, the police made an emergency arrest of Mr. A, who turned himself in about three hours after the crime, and applied for an arrest warrant on the same day.
Kim and her acquaintance are known to have suffered injuries, including fractures and contusions, during the assault.
Mr. A is understood to have told police during questioning that he committed the crime with the intention of obtaining valuables.
