Practical Measures for Accident Prevention Discussed
The Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (Director: Jeong Jongdeok) held the "2026 First Half Building Management Industry Accident Prevention Council" in the BEXCO conference room on May 21.
More than 30 participants attended the council meeting, including representatives from the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, the Busan Regional Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and the top 10 building management companies in the Busan area. They discussed measures for preventing industrial accidents in the building management sector and ways to promote a safety culture.
The building management industry is highly prone to fall accidents due to the frequent use of mobile ladders and high-altitude work during exterior cleaning, facility inspections, and maintenance processes. In particular, repeated incidents of falls and slips during mobile ladder operations have led to this sector being classified as one of the service industries that require intensive safety management.
During the meeting, participants shared practical prevention measures under the following topics: ▲ Directions for the 2026 Industrial Safety Policy ▲ Essential Elements and Management Perspectives of Safety and Health Management ▲ Key Safety Management Measures for the Busan Building Management Industry in 2026 ▲ Current Status of the Building Management Industry and Industrial Accident Prevention Activities.
The attendees agreed on the need to strengthen on-site safety management systems, inspect risk factors at each workplace, and expand education to prevent recurring types of accidents.

Ha Hyeongso, Director of Safety and Health Business at the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, stated, "To reduce serious and repeated accidents such as falls from mobile ladders and slips, systematic safety management led by the headquarters of building management companies is essential. The Agency will actively support practical accident prevention activities in collaboration with the building management industry through the operation of this council."
