Obzen: "AI Competitiveness Depends on Data Operations"…KNIME Seminar Concludes Successfully
Obzen, an AI full-stack data platform company, is accelerating the expansion of its enterprise AI data platform business by hosting seminars that share corporate AI utilization strategies and data operation innovation cases.
Obzen announced that it successfully held the seminar "Competitiveness in the AI Era: Connecting Data and AI with KNIME" on May 21. The event was organized to share data utilization strategies and AI-based workflow innovation cases among companies, amid the trend of AI rapidly moving beyond proof-of-concept (PoC) to practical application in real work environments.
The seminar drew significant attention from industry stakeholders, particularly as it featured real-world KNIME use cases from major companies such as Hyundai Motor Company and SK hynix.
Recently, while enterprises are accelerating AI adoption for data-driven decision-making and work automation, they are facing limitations in practical implementation due to issues such as data silos, disconnected analytics environments, and inadequate operational systems. Against this backdrop, the industry has assessed that integrated platform frameworks capable of connecting, analyzing, and operating data—not merely building isolated AI models—are emerging as core competitive advantages.
Amidst this trend, KNIME has been expanding its scope as a data science platform that enables data collection, analysis, AI integration, and work automation within a single workflow environment. More recently, the addition of AI Agent capabilities has brought renewed attention to KNIME as an enterprise AI work innovation platform.
The seminar featured a range of presentations focusing on KNIME-based AI utilization strategies and enterprise environment application cases.
The first session introduced the concept and role of AI Agents, showcased KNIME-based AI Agent implementation cases, and provided a live demonstration. The automated processes, in which AI understood work flows and performed real tasks based on data, drew particular interest from participants.
Next, Hyundai Motor Company presented its case of operating a KNIME workflow that connects data processing, analysis, and repetitive task automation using real simulation data. The case highlighted how a field-centric data analysis framework improved both work efficiency and utility.
Additionally, Vincenzo Tursi, Global Partner Director at KNIME's headquarters in Germany, explained the transition from department-centric shadow IT environments to enterprise-wide analytics frameworks and discussed directions for data governance, using a Citibank case study.
In the final session, SK hynix shared its experience transitioning its analytics environment from JMP and Spotfire to a cloud-based KNIME environment. The company discussed its next-generation AI-based analytics environment, which integrates everything from exploratory data analysis (EDA), preprocessing, and analytics to visualization and dashboard building, as well as its future strategy for expanding AI utilization.
Obzen is currently expanding its AI data platform business across diverse industries, including finance, manufacturing, and distribution. In particular, the company stated that it is focusing on strengthening its capabilities in the "Enterprise AI Data Platform," which connects and analyzes dispersed internal data and provides integrated support for analytics and AI utilization environments.
Myeongseok Kim, Vice President of Obzen, said, "In the AI era, it is important not just to introduce models, but to establish a framework that connects data to real work and enables operationalization." He added, "We will continue to expand the KNIME-based data and AI utilization ecosystem to support substantial work innovation and productivity improvements for enterprises."
