Gyeongnam Governor Candidate Kim Kyungsoo: "I Will Revive Gyeongnam Together with President Lee Jaemyung"
"Together with President Lee Jaemyung, we will build the future of Gyeongnam and the Republic of Korea."
Kim Kyungsoo, the Democratic Party candidate for governor of Gyeongnam Province, made this statement at the joint launch ceremony for Kim Kyungsoo for Gyeongnam Governor and Song Sunho for Changwon Mayor, held at Sangnam Fountain Square in Sangnam-dong, Seongsan-gu, Changwon City, on the afternoon of May 21, the official start date of campaign activities for the 9th nationwide local elections.

Candidate Kim pointed out, "The Gyeongnam economy has once again fallen into crisis," adding, "While candidate Park Wansu claims that the economic indicators show Gyeongnam’s economy is doing well, residents see the economic crisis in their grocery baskets."
He continued, "When you go out to the field, you can see how the livelihoods of our people are deteriorating and how hard the residents are struggling to endure this crisis," emphasizing, "We must overcome this crisis and revive Gyeongnam."
He said, "This election is about choosing who will overcome Gyeongnam’s crisis together with President Lee Jaemyung and make Gyeongnam the growth engine of Korea once again, and who, on the other hand, will constantly oppose the government and the president, disrupt progress, and lead Gyeongnam down the path of stagnation and extinction."
He then rhetorically asked, "Shouldn’t Song Sunho for Changwon, myself Kim Kyungsoo for Gyeongnam, and President Lee Jaemyung for Korea form a single team, leading the nation, Gyeongnam, and Changwon together?"
He also noted, "The next governor and the next mayor will serve terms that coincide with the remainder of President Lee Jaemyung’s term," and added, "With a president like this, shouldn’t we work together with him for four full years to revitalize Changwon and Gyeongnam?"

Candidate Kim stated, "Let’s work with President Lee Jaemyung to create an environment where our children can realize their dreams and hopes here in Changwon and Gyeongnam."
He also appealed, "If you elect good people as Gyeongnam governor and Changwon mayor, but the provincial and city councils keep obstructing them at every turn, how can things run properly? Please help us elect not only the governor and mayor, but also the superintendent of education, provincial council members, and city council members so that we can all work together."
