On May 20, Korea Airports Corporation announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Autodesk Korea at the Korea Airports Corporation AI·BIM Center for technical exchange and mutual cooperation in the field of BIM.
This agreement aims to expand an internationally standardized digital collaboration environment across all airport infrastructure projects and to strengthen data-driven project execution systems and information management capabilities. Both parties agreed to cooperate to enable data-centric project management.
The main points of the agreement include: reviewing collaboration plans to comply with international standards in BIM (such as IFC and ISO19650); jointly discovering planning projects to link Autodesk solutions with the Corporation’s BIM platform “KAC-BIM”; and conducting various exchange activities such as technical seminars and training. The Corporation expects that cooperation with Autodesk will strengthen its position as a leading public institution in the smart airport field and enhance its external credibility.
In addition, the two parties discussed further advancing digital transformation (DX) capabilities, including optimizing AI-based BIM functions, and cooperation in smart airport operations. Based on this, they also shared opinions regarding possible joint entry into the overseas airport construction market in the future.
